BIOGRAPHY.
Abbey Wiker is currently working as a freelance designer New York Metropolitan Area.
Currently Abbey works as the assistant art director for SNL's Film Units, is a junior process architect for CleanSpace, LLC., and works in interior design, window display design, theatre, and television in her off seasons. As of January 2023, Abbey is apart of the Scenic Artists Union Local 829. She continues to pursue a variety of industries to keep her skill sets strong.
She completed her BFA in Theatre Set Design from The Pennsylvania State University in August of 2018. During her time at Penn State she was awarded the Oliver Smith Award for Overall Design Achievement and studied in the graduate design studio her senior year. Abbey was honored to be selected as the Student Grand Marshal to represent the School of Arts and Architecture for the commencement ceremony.
After college, Abbey worked assisting on theatre productions in Washington D.C., New York, and St. Louis. She since 2017, Abbey has been returning to The Muny as an associate designer for their summer stock productions ensuring the designer's show transitions throughout the shops and onto stage.
Throughout Covid, she pivoted to other design and creative work that was available. From interior design, interior styling, architectural design, and window displays working for companies such as West Elm, Anthropologie, & Process Architectural Plus. She excelled working to incorporate company's brands into their designs as well as making spaces into a home for her clients to enjoy for years. In addition, she was able to help start up companies build their brand, style guide, website design, and set up marketing strategies for their launch.
Abbey has grown up surrounded by a family of artists. From fine painters to sculptors to architects, she has been able to learn and inherit her family’s design aesthetics.
