I was able to learn how to design costumes for a class project.  The first production was "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof".  This show allowed me to play with the relationships between the characters.  I felt the strongest relationships were grouped into two, Maggie and Brick and Big Mama and Big Daddy all are related by using similar color palettes to show the complexity in their interactions.  Mae, Gooper and the kids are also all related in color and style to try and make them seem like the perfect family.
