A Designer, Creator

My inspiration for the model came from his collages called "The Joiners".

Being based in the 1990's, IKEA was my main research for furniture.

This image above lead me to my concept of photo collage for the dog's reveal.

The paint treatments still needed to feel loose even though the treatment is based in a structured way.

Photoshop edited image for the apartment scenes.

The collages still embody a cartoon-like feel to them, similar to this image.

A comedy about a relationship between a man and his dog, Sylvia is based in New York City in the 1990s.
David Hockney's "Joiners", or photo collages, inspired this design as I recreated pixilated scenes on seven periaktos located around the theatre.
Four scenes are fluidly used in this space including: an apartment, park, therapist's office, and airport. The floor pattern allows for the inside and outside to become one, yet still giving two distinct locations.
In the final scene, the periaktos last rotation show the image of the dog, Sylvia.
