Set Design Intern

99th Summer Season

The Muny

St Louis, MO

2017

Working as the scenic design intern at The Muny in St. Louis, allowed me to learn how a professional theatre works, how to be an assistant designer, and it taught me more about model making, paint elevations, draftings, designing, prop designing, and communication skills.  I also had the opportunities to work on my presentation skills when asked to present the design to the entire theatre company.

I was able to closely work with 5 designers and 3 assistants, as well as other departments such as paints, props, and the TDs/scenery shop.  I attended meetings, designer runs, and techs to take notes for the designers and would help get the paint elevations and prop elevations completed, formatted, printed, and delivered to the correct departments.

Above are some model pieces I made and props I designed for the productions.
