Incorporating nature both inside and outside to create a balance between traditional Zen design and modern styles was my purpose in this project.

The white model was intended to be a simple room design, but I was fascinated by the roof interiors used in Zen design and architecture.  I chose to create three looks for my room; one without a roof accenting the interior or the walls, windows, and furniture, one to show the detailed beams, and one that would be the exterior appearance.

Using minimalistic and Zen principles, I was able to achieve the balance of light and space, interior and exterior, and simplicity and intricate.
